Our story begins in a quiet room in Santa Barbara, California in the 1960s, with a young boy's fascination for the treasures of the earth. That boy was our founder, and he would spend hours mesmerized by his rock collection and the rainbows cast by light shining through prisms. He saw a universe of color and form in a simple stone, a galaxy of light in a crystal. That childhood passion for the earth's hidden beauty never faded.
In 1978, while still in college, he formally entered the jewelry world, manufacturing and selling gift items made with the world-renowned sparkle of Austrian Swarovski crystals — the beginning of a lifelong journey in the trade. Over the following decades, that passion evolved, deepened, and grew into something far greater than a single business name could contain.
In 2009, Celestial Company was born — a name chosen to capture the "out of this world" beauty that had always been at the heart of this work. Yet the call of the earth, of natural materials and simple, honest design, remained equally strong. And so the vision was complete: Celestial Company presents Simple Natural Design.
